Gemstar

Our Cat is a great leveller to my day. Gemstar is old, nearly 14 and she has her way of looking at me that makes me slow down and pause in an ever quickening world.

Cats have personalities and unlike dogs they seem to do things when they feel inclined to, with Gemstar, if she needs new water in her bowl, she will sit and stare at the bowl of water, magically a human will appear and change the already good water for newer cleaner water, then she will not drink it straight away, appearing to be giving thanks for the newness of her images she sees reflected back from the water.

Her human (read here; Goodbloke) has learnt a bit from watching this animal, her way of carefully selecting a single morsel of food from a plate of plenty, then casually walk away without any cares, to lie beneath a tree with dapled sunshine shining thru just because she can.

Perhaps cats and dogs can teach us a few things too, if we pause long enough to notice.

Cheers to all,

Goodbloke
