Nice vs pushover

Work has been hectic for awhile and I've had to do my bosses job (out on leave), do my job, and dip way down to do other jobs.  At the time, it seemed I was the only one who would get it done.  I felt good and I did get nice accolades for getting everything done...  But now it seems that it is expected that I continue to do the multiple jobs, especially those tasks in which I dipped down.

Any suggestions on how I can say no without it coming off as "I don't want to that, it's not my job"?

Hmm

Thats always a tough one, saying to your employers that that is not my job!! Is the job you are doing actually someone elses?? Or is it a vacant position?  If they are understanding enough, maybe simply saying to them that hey, I took on these tasks when such and such was gone, just so they would get finished but now I feel like it is expected of me.  This is supposed to be such and suches job can we please give it back to them so I can concentrate on my tasks again??  Or something along those lines.  You know your employers better hen anyone and you will be the one who has to judge how snotty or nice you need to be!  Good luck, thats sure is always a tough one!!

Make a chart or table that shows allocation of time to projects you shouldn't be working on vs one of things you should be working on, essentially "nicely" showing them that you have the work of 2 to 3 people, so if something doesn't get done, they will have no reason to bother you!  Arounkone came up with that one.
