I once read a story about how Bob Hope used to introduce himself as "Hope, Leslie."  I don't know if the story is true, but I thought it was funny.

 

Sometimes I miss the obvious things because my brain's busy processing something else.  The profile page said to choose a STAR NAME, and I realized mine really says "hopelessly."  

 

Well, I'm not hopeless.  Not really.  Just wacky and a little off the beaten path, certainly; a little depressed that I can't find my spot in the sun.  Maybe because, in my young middle age, I still don't know what I want to do! 

 

I live in Northern California with my wonderful, patient, (long-suffering) husband and six lovely cats.  I have two beautiful daughters, one of whom is in law school and the other will be entering college in the fall.

I joined TOOLS because:
 I want to find a place online to share stories, worries, anxieties, ideas, advice, etc without judgment. It's like being in my therapist's office --- without the outrageous rates!
My favorite domestic animal is (if you choose dog be specific with breed etc):
 A cat! (I have six.)
Why:
 My cats are affectionate but only on their terms. I can't get them to do anything, but they have me trained to feed them and brush them and pet them anytime they want. I would like to be a pampered cat in my next life.
You are going on a long road trip and you can only bring three CD's. Which ones do you bring (separate by commas):

If I could do anything for my neighborhood today, it would be:
 Organize a block party! But my neighbors are kind of stuffy... maybe that's just my impression, I don't see too many of them.
Any character I could be from a movie, TV show or book would be:
 If I can't be Dr. Who, I'll settle for being his sidekick!
Why:
 He's traveled all over the universe, he's seen a lot of things and entities, he finds interesting puzzles and even manages to solve them and he saves the world at the end of each episode (or two). AND he looks like he's always having fun doing it.
