i watched a show on pbs last night......

Last night there was a show on pbs about the brain fitness program. it had a lot of parallels with what coach has been talking about all along, but went into more depth about the science. It basically said the more you use your brain and the more you learn the better your brain works and the happier you feel because the chemical transmission between your brain for these types of thoughts are the same types of chemicals that are released when you feel happy and alive.

I  am sure everyone here already knew that but it was great to get a little more outside push. great show i recommend watching it. there are also lots of books and games to help along.

Heres to your wonderful mind!

ditto

I think I saw the same thing on pbs.  The part I remembered was the impact of problem solving type computer games that are addicting.  It helps to understand the addiction because the happy chemicals are released as they move to higher and higher levels, or learn more while competing.  Very interesting.

I hear you I hear you

I Never Thought of That

I never gave thought to why problem solving games are so addiction but that makes complete sense.

wow!

I get it now. I have four kids that all play a lot. I have to regulate and make sure they get out and play w/the real world.
