Where to stay in London and Paris?

I am planning a dad-son bonding trip to London and Paris.  I need to travel very inexpensively and am considering a hostel.  Anyone have any advice?

Thanks,

Jason

Have you tried "at home in London" : http://www.athomeinlondon.co.uk/

This site provides rooms (on a B&B basis) in private homes in London. Locations and prices vary, but you can check them at the web. I stayed once in a single room, paid 40 pounds including breakfast. The owners were really nice, the house had a great location and I enjoyed a lot.

All good advice below.  I'm currently in Italy and have used cheapoair for tickets and hotels.  They really do seem to be the cheapest.

Good luck and have fun..

Hi

The absolutely cheapest hostel I've ever been to in London is Hostel 639, that's their name.

Not in central London (obviously, if you check their price) and you need to be prepared to put up with noise and stuff, but if what you want is something really cheap in a place like London, that's an option.
