Bacon! It's all about bacon!

Everyone has their vices when it comes to food. For some, it's chocolate, cakes, or other sweets. Others find burgers or tacos impossibly irresistable. Some can't bear life without coffee. For me, it's bacon. No matter what diet I could ever go on, I would have to be honest with myself and admit that bacon would find it's way in there.

And yet, there is something I love more. I love living a good life, which is what I've got! When I think of my stable job at a great company, my many loyal friends who make my life interesting, my family who I just don't see enough of, and my girlfriend of over 4 years, who is more special to me than anything could ever have the potential to be.

Sound good? Damn right! The problem is that I can easily get caught-up in the negative around me. Things can be so good for me that a tiny fall can often lead to a large bruise, and I fall hard. Stress can take over, and depression slowly overtakes me. Why? Well, of that I am unsure. So this isn't much of a story. What author leaves such a question unanswered?

When I say home, I am referring to Phoenix, Arizona. But when I'm at home, I am in Orange County, California. As the oldest of 5 children (and the only boy), I did feel pretty lost in the shuffle growing up. I knew lots of people, but never had many friends. Married young to a girl who found more in another, I also divorced young. A couple years of family problems were mixed with my own self-destruction. The road to repair unexpectedly led to California, and so I followed. February 13th, 2005 was my 26th birthday. It was also the day I packed up a truck I'd just purchased for $1000 with everything I own and left home. No money, no job and no place to live, I was scared. But with nothing left behind me, I was also excited! So here I am, nearly 5 years later, and I have a job at a great company, a woman I intend on loving forever, and more friends for much longer than I've ever had in my 26 years of living in Phoenix.
