I am here to track my progress on my New Years Resolutions for 2008, and I can't lie - I've got my work cut out for me. I feel like I've finally reached a point in my life where I'm ready to make some serious changes and steps towards improving my life and bettering myself. In the past discipline has not always been my strongest point, and I'm excited to finally feel confident in my ability to maintain my own strength and determination to work towards making some long overdue achievements.
I plan to focus on many different areas, so add me as a friend and look out because I plan to tackle many varied topics - things should stay pretty interesting (as I admittedly have tremendous room to improve... and likewise tremendous potential). Do stay tuned because if nothing else this'll be good for a laugh. And yes, I am only joking about it because I'm that sure I'm not gonna let myself screw up ;P
These questions go more with my last blog entry, but since there's a special place for questions here goes:
1. Do you think smoking can affect a person's personality? If so in what ways?
2. If you are also quitting smoking.. please share some of the reasons you are most excited to quit. If you're planning to quit soon or just trying to get the courage to do it.. post some of the reasons YOU WILL be glad you do it once you finally take the plunge!
says: My personality changed a little when I quit smoking as a pack a day smoker. First, nicotine is a stimulant and you’ll probably be a little more easy going once you quit. There will be aspects that you thought you were easy going about but were really not. Next, you’ll probably have more self esteem. Low self esteem is usually what triggers you to start smoking and the smoking makes it worse. Your breath, hair, and clothes won’t stink so you will be more confident around people. Finally you’re going to be more active. You won’t lose your breath out on a bike ride or hike and will want to do it more.
These answers won't all seem to save right - anyway - I joined TOOLS because I think it will be helpful to have a place to track my progress on my New Years Resolutions this year.
You are offered your dream job. What job is it?:
An elementary school teacher that gets paid like an NFL player... or maybe a even just a personal shopper for some sexy, highly overpaid celeb.
My favorite wild animal is:
It's hard to choose a favorite. I'm gonna say dolphins, but penguins are pretty loveable too. In fact technically they're all my favorite - so this question is all wrong for me.
Why (describe as much as possible):
Go figure this would be the question they want me to elaborate on. Dolphins are sweet, cute, smart and unique. They've always intrigued me. Penguins because they were so cute in that movie march of the penguins, haha.
My favorite domestic animal is (if you choose dog be specific with breed etc):
Just about anything that you can keep from stinking and that will let me love it and squeeze it and harass it like hell. I'm not too picky but I'm more of a dog person than a cat person, generally leaning towards smaller breeds.
Because I've got some similarities with the character 'Elmira' from that old cartoon Looney Toons... in that I am an obnoxious lover of animals. Dogs are usually more prone to enabling this sort of behavior ;)
A famous Chef will prepare anything you want. What do you order:
Because I try to consume as many organic and vegan/vegetarian products as I can. I hope to convert to being a full vegan this year.
Five people either dead or alive you would have at your fantasy dinner party::
Because I am fascinated by some aspect of each of their lives.
If a pilot would fly you anywhere you want, you would go to:
Visit distant family and friends, then visit the huge list of countries outside of the US that I've never seen. Check out the seven wonders, do some site seeing, hehehe. Typical stuff.
My perfect slice of pizza is:
Not exciting enough to deem a whole question out of. Although there is a good local joint 'Beau Jos ' that serves some pretty good 'vegan mountain pies' with dairy free mozz, and my perfect slice of that would definitely have their artichoke hearts, onions, peppers, tomatoes, maybe tofu, mmm. It's good stuff. They have lots of sauces too, pesto would be good instead of red sauce. hehe these questions are making me hungry!
You are at a bar. You order this drink:
Tanqueray and tonic.
You are at a coffee shop. What coffee or tea do you order:
Black tea, Green Tea, Mochachino - I ain't picky.
If a genie could grant you three wishes they would be (separate by commas):
Deep...I'd have to sit and think about this one. Maybe I could wish for more wishes for awhile while I weigh world peace against poverty, enlightenment, riches, free energy, and the load of other crazy schemes like time machines... oh yes I'd definitely need more time to consider all my options.
Off the top of the head though
1. Spiritual Enlightenment
If I could do anything for my neighborhood today, it would be:
Whatever I could think of at the time that would benefit the most people in the greatest way.
A sunset I remember:
Was up in the mountains on my first camping trip. It was huge, blazing and beautiful and I don't think I've ever seen as brilliant since.
Because I find this question to be a joke. I don't think it's acceptable to wish I was a character from a movie. I'm working on self acceptance, dangit!
