Help! I Need to Stay Focused!

Today is my first day here at ttl.

Being focused isn't something I accomplish with ease, like some people.  I have so much going on in my life that I am oftened pulled in many directions.

I would like suggestions that work for you to keep your focus on your goals.

My main goal is to work independetly from my home and be able to make my own schedule.

I have a found a really good business, but need to block out time for this without the guilt of not tending to every family distraction.

If you have any useful suggestions, feel free to send me a line.

You already answered yourself.

"need to block out time for this without the guilt of not tending to every family distraction."

Do this, every day. Make time to do this program... and don't skip any days.  It takes time, but you WILL see positive changes as you do the program and reprogram your thinking. But you absolutely HAVE to make time and do it each and every day (and be sure to click the finished button, or you get disappointed the next day when you can't move forward, been there and done that!).

While it's a natural tendency to feel guilty because of family needs, you have to realize that you absolutely HAVE to take care of yourself first. Without that, your no good to anyone else.  With that, your so much better for everyone else!

And on the home working note...  it's an awesome way of making a living.  Been self employed at home for YEARS now, and while I am not making a killing, I wouldn't trade the ability of having full control of my own time for anything!  And the nice part is, even if you don't make a killing, what you DO make, your make for yourself and not for someone else!

I read something like more than half the working folks in the US are becoming "solopreneurs", making at least $1000/month from home.  Good luck with your ventures there!

I'm here to help I'm here to help

Just the Beginning

You are just starting an amazing journey here!  I'm not that far ahead of you, but already I have found this program to be extremely helpful in developing myself into the person I want to be.

To just tell yourself to 'focus' isn't enough, at least it wasn't for me.  The Tools provided here have helped me remove the obstacles that got in my way of focusing, primarily the excuses and complaints I've told myself over the days/years.  I can focus.  You can focus.  It's a matter of training your brain (really!) and the exercises have helped me so much in such a short period of time.

Welcome to the group!  Keep at it, commit to your personal growth, click the finished button at the end. (Doh)

Trust yourself

Know that you will NEVER get all the things done in a day that you think should be done.  If that is true, then in order to feel happy we all need to do the things that are most important.  The only way to figure that out is to make a list of everything, prioritize it and then draw a line under #10.  If you can get the top ten things done each and every day, the rest will get done in time but won't matter all that much because you have focus and are doing the things that really need to be done by you.

Here are a few tools I use:

  1. Make my list and priotize it, underline #10
  2. Start at the top and do one thing at a time until completion
  3. As you finish each thing on the list, cross it off and give yourself mental praise (but not a cookie!)
  4. Accept that sometimes there are interruptions that you must focus on so do it and know that your life is being directed for your best good.  Give the distraction your best shot and then get back to your list.

GOOD LUCK AND KEEP ON KEEPING ON UNTIL KEEPING ON IS SECOND NATURE TO YOU.

stay here

just doing this program will help you get to your goals!  many of my blogs mention how I am riddled with ADD but working ttl has made a whole bunch of little differences in a lot of big ways.  it is a good thing you have found!
