I love many artists but some of my favorites are a new guy on the block Shawn Walker who does the soundtrack for the My Inner Magic childrens program. He does a type of indy rock with a soulful feel for children which is surprising at first when you are used to kids programs having John Jacob Jinklehimer Schmit type songs and how often do you hear truly inspirational rock that isn't just Christian but universal and sounds good. I love it.
I feel like the songs were written for me even though the program was for my daughter. I can't speak highly enough of this Cali boy. With all that said I also love Floetry, Michael Jackson, El Debarge all the Debarges actually, India Arie, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and like a ton others but Neo Soul is my genre of choice and I'm starting to like some soulful Jazz and I have also been opening up to just really good music with a good story and sound. I heard an '80's Phill Collins song last night that really caught my attention.
