Have i got this correct, my dream is to compete in show jumping ( horses) and be able to do it confidently.
I have since I was a child never been very sporty with low self esteem with any kind of sport I used to watch all the other kids compete and I would be amazed at what they could do and I just sat there I never tried and if I had to do any sport I seem to come last and I would give up because I did not think I could do it and now I have decided at the age of 41 it is time to start believing in myself that I can be sporty I can do any sport I put my mind to I learnt to swim this year which proved to me that I am capable of learning anything and I can be a sporty person,
I want to challenge myself and push myself and get rid of those thoughts that say I cant do any sport.
So here I am learning to ride a horse at 41yr old it is a slow process learning to balance and get fit,
My first short goal in this area of my long term goal of showjumping is to learn to ride and learn about horses,
after learning to ride the next short term goal in this area is to be able to keep up with the other riders and be able to ride as fast as the others whilst riding and my long term goal with the end result being able to compete in show jumping and be as good as everyone else who is competing.
Is this what you mean by goals what I mean is my long term goal is to compete in showjumping and the other long term goal is to become a more sporty type of person instead of sitting on the sideline watching. But I have my short term goals that will get me to the end result of my long term goal mind you I keep visualising myself on a horse competing at a event and jumping over the jumps.
I want to be the one doing the sport not sitting and watching.
