excuses, fear etc milestones

I have noticed today that I dont listen to people properly when they talk I start to listen to people and then go off into my own little world I realised what this is about now people rejecting me and people telling me things I dont always want to hear you know like facing the reality of whatever is happening in not a happy situation and that way it is easier to deal with.

In all the years I was with my xhusband he used to go on and on at me about anything he could  find in order to make sure everything was his way or no way and I would shut out in order not to have to deal with him and the reality of the life I was living not a happy one.

Now that I am aware of what I have been doing and are doing I am going to change this in myself to face the reality of life, be happy and enjoy the conversation I have with people and actually listen to people and enjo life from now on my life is going to a happier life.

tuning out

I hear you I hear you

it's great you understand why you do this, and you are noticing when you do it. I know other people who "tune out" in response to others who may be ranting or going on..and then it becomes a habit with everyone. Good for you to take charge of this.
