Needed some QUICK advise... what better place than to reachout to fellow toolers who are dependable, reasonable and always helpful? !!!
My daughter, a new TTLer is struggling with an opportunity... Seems her boss is pretty difficult. Daughter works ALOT and she works HARD. In fact, she created this job by being considerate and offering to help and now she is downtrodden by all of the negativity!
This boss complains all of the time. My daughter is aware of this as she has been addressing TTL "No Complaints". No matter how hard daughter works, there is a negative response.
In fact, as I sit here writing this blog, daughter is sending an important email out to boss.
She has sent it 4 times this evening so far and trying a 5th time. Boss doesnt understand that this information was sent over a week ago. The boss is extremely negative and attacks frequently.
My advise to find another job is not a viable solution at this point from a financial standpoint. So the need for new ideas is imperative.
It seems logical to try to come up with some solutions to learn to manage this conflict and try to make an opportunity of it. I've not had such conflicts with my boss. I've no real good advise for her yet. I am the person to whom daughter vents. This situation is not a good one, viewing from the outside.
I wish she could quit but in doing so will lose many opportunites to advance in her field... a field that she loves!!!
I know that the conflict cannot be handled in just one night however with your help, perhaps we can come up with some ideas to help her start to turn it into a solution or to see it as opportunity..... Will you help?
My goal is to help find/supply suggestions that will help start to turn things around.
- Things that can be done immediately to help diffuse a conflict cycle with a boss?
- Ways others have dealt with a negative boss?
- how to explain to your boss that you are giving it your best and the expectations are unrealistic?
- Long-term solution suggestions for improving work tension?
Any ideas welcome...
We look forward to your ideas!
Thank you so much for being here!
Sincerely,
KMCM
