IIf I could find the right word.

my son is still trying to recover from heroin.  Im trying not to do all of the talking.  I am trying to give him space to breath, learn and think.

its hard.    there is so much i want to say.

he could have had it all.

I say as much as I can, in as few words as I can trying to make the few words powerful.

I search for the one magic word that can help him change for good.

today, i asked...

"what memories do you want your baby girl to have of her daddy?"

sure he may miss some of her first year if he were to go to rehab.  but then, who would he be in her eyes as she grows older.

"invest" son, "in your future now", just after she is born next month, she wont remember and "she can have all of you" for the time she does remember.

If I could find the right word.

at least he was thinking.
