Yay for Wednesday

Well this morning I only woke up forty minutes after I set my alarm which is better then yesterday! My sister called and set off my anger and I had a little trouble getting out of that but I took a breather and really turned myself around. The rest of the day went great!

Work went well, I achieved all the small goals I set for myself, I was productive, and I stayed in a great mood all day. I would like to share with you guys what really turned my morning around.

Sometimes it is hard to sympathize with someone if you can not see what they are going through. The mother of the house I work in I am very close to her and she has a back condition that causes her pain. She appears to not have a problem and she goes to work and appears fine but her back condition is there. She often asks me to do things for her outside of my job and is constantly requesting me for a favor. After awhile I began to resent it and become negative about it. She appeared fine so why is she having me do all these things?

Well this morning I sat down and wrote out exactly what it would feel like if I were in her condition and truly put myself in her shoes. I can not physically feel her pain but with what she has told me about it I can imagine. Then I came up with something I could do that would truly brighten her day and did it.

I will never know the extent of her pain but who I am to judge and assume that its not there? I am not in her body and I cant choose what she is feeling. Now I hope to day by day apply this rule to another person and try to do some act of kindness. Even if someone is exaggerating what is happening in their life it is not up to me to decide if they are or not. Instead I choose to use these opportunities to do acts of kindness and help others.

You never know really know when someone is truly in need or not but why pick and choose? Why not choose to help out whenever you can and see how much you can go that extra mile?

This is what I have learned today and this is what I am going to embrace everyday. I hope you guys can take something from this and have a wonderful day!

Lindsey :)
