says: I have a dear friend who married a woman with a son with Aspergers. With the support of others who understand and share you challenge, you will be amazed how much you will learn, humble yourself, and stretch your heart. I have seen his son grow in many ways... he's 6' tall now. Much success in finding help and growing through this. Susan/so2u

Here is my hug as well, wow what a challenge you are taking on. I have heard that rapid eye therapy can do wonders. If you'd like to know more, my user name is jeanne and I will share the little I know, and I can get you a number to call.
Good luck with your journey.

Hello,
My name is Michel. I read your comment and I just wanted to send you a hug. I was born with a condition known as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. I'm told that the mental challenges are very similar to autism. As a result processing and thinking correctly, understanding and following directions is very much a challenge even at my age. In fact I should not even be able to understand and write this note, but I can! In fact, I'm even working on writing a book! Anyway enough about me. I just wanted you to know that my best wishes and hugs are with you. Remember, that what looks impossible to us is not impossible to Almighty God. According to all known laws of aerodynamics, it should be impossible for bumblebees to fly, but bumblebees don't know it so they fly anyway. By every psychological test and evaluation my verbal and written IQ points are more than 60 points apart (which scientifically suggests that I should not be able to learn). Obviously that's an entirely bogus assumption. Learning is just a lot harder. It takes longer and more repetition to build the right brain patterns. It takes longer, it's sometimes a bigger pain in the butt for me than other people, but I can learn.
On the one hand, I can't imagine the challenge that you face as the caregiver of the mentally challenged little one. I can more closely relate to your child's difficulty in communicating what they're thinking and feeling because I had the same problems. What I can do is let you know that I'm behind you and I applaud your efforts to be a loving patient and caring mommy when it seems that the kid is driving you to distraction. God bless you!
