ticks on the dog - pull them off one by one

 

forgive me for waxing philosphic (and for the small letters - keyboard is broken).

 

so today we gave the dog a bath and as we combed through her hair we saw an entire colony of ticks - where did they come from, how had they gotten there in spite of our best efforts?  well, only one thing to do, pick them off one by one.

 

so i figure this is a metaphor for our own lives - we run around focused on satisfying all the external needs/demands, and when we finally look inwards, we discover an infestation of dissatisfaction - our own personal ticks.  and the only way to take control and get them off is to tackle them one by one...but remember, the ticks are only hanging on the outside - they only draw blood if we let them...keep yourself well groomed, keep checking for the ticks and pulling them off, and soon you'll be happy as a puppy and all your energy will be yours and yours alone
