Lynzie, what is the benefit from doing what you don't want to do? Ask yourself that question regarding all the things you do that you're not crazy about. Is the benefit enough that its worth what you have to do? If it is, there is your motivation. If it isn't, you may need to re-evaluate what you do.
Hope this helps a little.

Finding ways to get some pleasure out of your task can help. If you've got clutter to clear, put on your favorite pump-up jams and grab a pedometer to track calories burned. If you're dreading an uncomfortable family event make plans afterward with a friend so you can dish.
When I'm just lacking motivation in general, it helps me to write down all the little tasks and steps within that i'd like to complete, then prioritizing and sectioning my list. I color it with markers and write very neatly so it's easy to read.
I fold it up and carry it around with me so I can check off things through out the day. I put EVERYTHING i do on these lists - from getting up and eating breakfast (Check!) to 10 minutes on the elliptical (Check!) to eating lunch and logging it in my food journal (Check!) Keep the ideas coming guys, hope this helps you Lynzie!

P.S. There's this great invention called the PocketMod - it's a printable to-do list that folds up for pocket transportation, and allows you to print a variety of helpful sections on one piece of paper, from a grocery list to a sudoku game for downtime. Google PocketMod and check it out, it's a really cool idea. (and it's free, I don't work for them.) ;o)
says: You just have to discipline yourself to do it and see how it feels. When you 'JUST DO IT" with a smile on your face it actually feels so much better than having to keep coming back to the fact that you haven't done it yet, and the fact that you have to keep thinking negatively about it. When you do it with a smile on your face you become proud of yourself and actually enjoy your achievement. Make sure you try everything Coach asks of you, even if it's just for a short time to experience HOW IT FEELS for you. Do I revert back to my old procastinistic ways - sure I do sometimes - but I know it doesn't feel as good as just getting it done and out of the way now that I've actually done it that way!

My challenge also! I tend to leave things until they stress me out.
Wouldn't it be nice to be one of those people who just does what they have to when it needs to be done.
I often do things out of shame (I would be ashamed not to get it done). Perhaps if I could do more out of desire I would be more effective. But who actually desires cleaning the house and balancing the check book?
I hope someone has a good answer to your question, I'm very curious.
says: Good question Lynzie... I've only been in this program for a week, but I think if you keep yourself open to it's suggestions, you may end up answering some of your own questions.
