Growing

 Okay, so I blew it yesterday.  I missed all my opportunities for growth.  But, thats okay, because I saw where I slipped yesterday.  I have said all along in the areas of complaints, excuses and fears, that they are major challenges to me.  Yesterday, well I couldn't see an opportunity if it landed in my face.  And it did, but upon reflection I can see where they were.   Which in and of itself is tons better than I would have before program.  I will make it!  I will adjust and like with the Apollo Missions, I will debrief myself (especially when I sleep) The days and events where I slip.  Learn from them, and do better the next time.  After all my bad habits, have been habits for 4 decades, it does take time, effort and work.

I solved by going back to the exercise section of the toolbox and making journal forms of the questions for each day I also did that for the check list. he is a checklist sample:

well you get the idea every morning I after I do the checklist I do the check list journal pages, mostly because I am ocd/add and it helps me not to forget missed opportunities to clear things up in my head. after doing each excuse/negative thought/complaint I repeat 'my attitude is my decision.

Believe it or not!  Consider that before starting this course...you may have kept complaining and making excuses and missing opportunities and letting fear rule?

 

Today, you see and have so bravely and honestly expressed your thinking errors and are substituting positive thoughts!

 

What a fantastic accomplishment in such a short time Rou!!  Way to go!!

 

You see complaining and excuses as challenges!  Wonderful!  That means you accept that you can change!  And you are already changing!!  I'm sooooo impressed!!

 

Honestly!! 

 

You can see where your opportunities are!!

You said so!!  That's great!!  We have to see those opportunities before we can make use of them!  Soon you'll be doing that too!  Go for it Rou!!

 

And you see how this is "tons better" than prior to doing Tools!  Which is what will inspire you to continue the program!  Wonderful!!  You're not a quitter Rou!!

Wonderful stuff!!  It's true Rou!!  Keep going!!

 

You will adjust and debrief yourself?  That's an absolutely great attitude adjustment!  Do you see how great that is?  So much better than wallowing eh?  Good for you Rou!!

 

You will learn from your "slips" and "do better the next time"?  It's all any of us can do!!  It's the most positive result of error.  And we all make errors because none of us are perfect!

 

The truly wonderful thing about that statment is how human you are allowing yourself to be!!  And how great it is that you are taking something negative (a slip) and turning it into a positive opportunity (the chance to learn and do better)!!  I'm so proud of you Rou!!

 

And best of all......you are allowing yourself the time you need to change!!  That is so real and so necessary!!  So lovely to see you say it!! 

 

Reality is ....these things do take time and beating yourself up for slips won't help.  What an amazing attitude adjustment you have made......to allow yourself the time necessary to implement the changes you want!!  You will do it Rou!!  You will!
