Metaphor for Life and Tools...and guitar playing

Had my second guitar lesson last night.

Since last week been practising the 6 cords our teacher and home spun philosopher gave us last week. My fingers are sore and my wrist is aching.

Not quite got all the cord changes perfect yet, not even very good yet, but  "muscle memory" will click in, I'm assured,  and it will become second nature, provided I practise, and I will.

Despite our imperfect cord changes, me and the rest of the class, learned a number of strumming patterns and combining these with a few cords, lo and behold, the start of what sounds like a tune. It's beginning to be worthwhile already, and surely will get better.

So practise makes perfect, success comes through constancy of purpose, life rewards action, visualisation becomes reality.

Wow, and why did I not do this before ?

I guess it has always been in me, and is in all of us, and Tools has been the spark to bring it out.

I'm not particularly intersted in climbing Mount Everest, but being able to play Neil Young's Harvest or Heart of Gold would be my little Everest.

Metaphor for Life [and Tools] and guitar playing...

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah...

Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen

You have a friend in me and me in you

Hullo friend,

I am also learning guitar.. was actually pulled into it by the daughter's teacher..

It is nice..  but boy yes it is difficult too...

Are you learning to pluck or strum..

So lets keep in touch with our progress..

I am loving it I must say but ofcourse find it difficult to change the chords and all that..

Yes practising is the key.. and hey lets do it..

Do reply when you find the time...

Thanks and regards,

Shantha
