Soul Fun at the Frisky Festival

Went to the Edinburgh festival last Saturday, with friends,  I swear I'm only just recovering. Only just getting round to the blog.

The final show of my day was the Blues Brothers Banned - no not a mispelling - many of the numbers from the movie , plus some makeovers of more recent songs, really great , funny and I was  (with the rest of the audience) up on my feet and dancing, I slept well that night, and every night since, but during the day, less energy, or maybe its just the humid weather.

I go to the festival every year, well the last 7 years straight and many times before that, handily its only 40 miles away.

I aso saw the Best of Irish Comedy, the Talented Mr Ripley, no Jude Law or Matt Damon but  - a play from high school students from Coventry, England, and Lunch with the Hamiltons (Neil and Christine) Neil an ex Member of the British Parliament, and his wife a very witty and vibrant woman. The highlight of that show (they have guests each day) was a "twisted pop cabaret" act called Frisky and Mannish, very good, funny and entertaining.

Of course , the free acts on the street.

A long but entertaining day, I usually go to more shows, 16 a few years ago, but cutting back this year.

The city is packed and vibrant on these days, a cosmoploitan place, of every nationality and culture under the sun.

The only downside, my friends who I've attended with the last 6 or 7 years (i've known them more than 10 years, and happen to live near Edinburgh) are off to England, the necessity of work, only 450 miles away, but I'll miss seeing them as often that I did.

So get out there and enjoy your culture, being entertained or having fun, be in the now, live your life.

Also, dancing to the Blues Brothers, I lost a few pounds, great excercise.

I'll be back next year.

WELL DONE!

Good on you, Martin.  What a treat!  How soothing for the spirits.  You must have a real good blast (the energy must have thrived with the music all around ... yes, it should come back to you all filled up with your favourite tune!).  Well, for one, if it's a humid weather, it's tantamount to dancing in the sauna.  Haha, even then, you can't wait for the next celebration again.  Here in our nearby area, a yearly jazz festival is held every first Sunday of the Septemer.  Everything is in perfect alighnment - perfect music, awesome food, great camaraderie (strangers are like old friends).  Oh, thanks for reminding me by way of your post.  Hmmm ... barely 2 weeks to go.

Clap, splash, brush, smile.  Have an energy 'recouping' great day, Martin!

Cheers,
