Mirror Mirror

I Attended an internet marketing seminar over the last 4 days and learned SO much.

There was one excerise that we were all asked to do,that really stood out, that I would like to share.

We were all paired off and turning our chairs towards each other (total strangers) had to look into the other person s eyes and take turns asking specific questions and listening, and then being asked the questions and answering, with a period in between when we had to just maintain eye contact.

I was paired up with a gentleman who found it incredably difficult to look me in the eye. He looked everywhere else BUT at me. When he asked his question, he then proceeded to answer it himself!  I was determined to complete the exercise  and gently waved my hands to get his attention everytime he wandered. I then pointed out it was my turn to answer when he started again to answer his question. Luckily the exercise went on for some time. He eventually got the idea.

I found this a VERY interesting experience. Even more so when we had finished and the event leader explained that what we saw in our partner was a mirror of a part of ourselves!

'What!'  I thought  'Am I like that?'

'Do I look everywhere else but at what is right in front of me?'   After some digging I had to confess IT WAS TRUE.  When I was confronted with something that made me uncomfortable, I tried to avoid looking at it, even recognising it was there. I guess I just pretended it didn't exist! I Worked my way around it!

I also had a problem with letting others help me with the answer. I did not wait for another to help ,I tried to do it myself!I also did not SEE the HELP/ANSWER right in front of me!

WOW   What an eyeopener!

I get it and will be aware of this from now on.

Isn't life amazing,  we never know where our next lesson is lurking!
