My sirens song.

 

I was thinking  today about how temptations or addictions can be like a sirens song.They lead you on with promises and bring you disaster. I wrote this poem about what I was thinking.

 

I hear my sirens song each night.

She sings to me of sweet delights.

She talks of dreams and glory too.

She says these gifts I'll give  to you.

 

But,I have learned from my own past.

The gifts she promises never lasts.

She says to me "you have no choice."

I will not listen to her voice.

 

My siren calls me every day.

But, I have found a better way.

I listen to my inner voice

thats telling me I have a choice.

 

To live a life thats full of pain

or learn how to begin again.

I have new friends to show the way

and soon good things will come my way.
