Growing Up

I can relate to the negative programming that is mentioned in Tools to Life. When I think about it, I can hear my mum say, we can't afford that, you can't do that,...

I know parents mean well, but it is possible to cause some form of damage without knowing. I read the book Rich Dad Poor Dad and picked up a few lessons from there. I guess sometimes we just do what everyone else have always done. I think we have forgotten to question why things are done in a particular way.

Hopefully it will not take a long time to reprogram myself :) I will continue applying consistent effort to ensure that this happens :)

The riches of my mother

I don't remember that, as I was growing up, we were ever particularly bad off...   but it was a serious recession in Alberta at the time.  I can remember at times when things were a bit tough, my mother would say, "We're not poor.  We just don't have a lot of money."

My mother was right.  We were rich in so many other things.  We had a a roof over our heads, plenty of food in the kitchen, a car that took us on fabulous excursions all over Alberta and abroad into British Columbia, Montana, Oregon, and Washington State.  We had a fantastic, loving home filled with artistic and intellectual stimulation and a sense of the beauty of the world.  No matter how thin the bank account might get, we were wealthy beyond imagination.

Yes, continue applying your efforts and I know that you will one day reach a similar comfortable place where your life will always be enriched,
