iam proud of myself

Well i am on week six and doing well. Let me say i posted a profile on a dateing website and i met an amazing person. I shared good postive affirmations in my head before going and guess what i had no expectations of it being anything other than, Iam going to have a  good time and i did, He was fun and funny he made me laugh and challenged me, I was just a bit dissapionted in the fact he kept talking about his ex, I thougth to myself how sad is it for him he doesn't even realize a missed oppurtnity in front of him.  But i went and had a great time, iam proud of myself for putting forth the effort. I did share postive thoughts and shared them with him so maybe i rubbed off, I really do hope he finds his way.My advice to him, only he can change it. No one can change for him. Thanks tools , for giving me the tools.

Well done you. You have found the secret to surviving dating - positive affirmations, low expectations, and enjoy yourself. It sounds like he has ex issues and like you, I hope he finds his way.

I met my current boyfriend of 5 months on an online dating site. Before that had lots of online dating experiences, some fun, some funny, some disasters too lol.

This is what I wish I'd known earlier, and I'll share it with you incase it's of help to you too

*Be specific in your profile about what you are looking for - and what you aren't. Part of what my current bf liked about my profile was that I specifically stated I was not looking for casual fun, nor did I want to be contacted by any guys who were married.

*Don't cheat yourself by going on dates with guys you know are wrong for you. Read their profiles thoroughly, chat online and on the phone. Don't waste your time or theirs if you know you can't see yourself with them - or you suspect they aren't seeking anything more than a 'good time.'

*Listen to your inner voice when you chat online or on the phone with anyone. Is there something about their manner that makes you uncomfortable? Something that doesn't ring true? Trust your instincts you will rarely be wrong.

*No home phone number, no date. Guys who insist on only giving out mobile numbers are hiding something, or married. If they have a broadband connection for their PC, they have a home phone line.
