Family is stressful

My 23 year old sister has loved with me since our mother passed away in 2006. She has grown so much in that time and I am very proud of her efforts. She is in school full time and works almost full time. The problem is she has the entitlement attitude of a 15 year old. Her and my husband fight constantly and I am in the middle. I have talked with both of them about this but it only helps for a day or so. I love them both so much, it kills me when they fight. I am very torn because I can understand how both feel and where they are both coming from. I really wish they would both exert as much energy into getting along as they do to annoy each other. Family is very stressful sometimes.

Giving you a cheer

... to encourage you to keep going! Family is very stressful indeed, but keep reminding yourself of all the wonderful things you like about them when you feel particularly stressed, that'll really help (as I have learnt today in Tools!)

All the best,

76

yep, hear you

Family can be stressful. I do believe though, that fights and disagreements happen for a reason.

It sounds like your sister is flexing her muscles and you know, it may be time for her to make her own way and find her own place to live. I daresay that she has made great progress over the last couple of years. She may be brave enough now to make this next step.

Something to think about anyway.

As for the fights, as hard as they can be on the eardrums, they aren't always a negative thing. They can clear the air -vastly preferable to people bottling stuff up. Family members usually fight about boundaries and as i said, I'd say your sister is finding hers and may be ready to move on.

take care - aqua

Best of luck

sorry to hear that things have been tough - I hope things improve!

thanks

Thanks for the support!
