...for the first time in my life.
I quit smoking nearly 2 years ago, at age 34, and started running, which was the first time I'd done so since junior high school.
When I started running, I couldn't go a full block. I started to increase it here and there and even though I've had to start all over a few times when I stopped exercising because of using the excuse of depression, I always started back into it.
I have been fairly faithful about going at least 2-3 times a week, tho I'd rather be doing 5. And I upped my milage to 3 miles about a month or two ago.
Then on Sunday night, I felt really strong and running wasn't painful at all - it was effortless almost. So I said to myself, I'm gonna go one more mile.
And I did!
Unfortunately, on Monday night I tried running and because I wore my shoes to walk my dog a few miles, my feet hurt. I tried running, but I couldn't even do 2 miles! I was really upset at myself. I ended up walking most of the 2 miles. But I haven't given up. I'm going to keep pushing myself, because I love the challenge.
