Friendship and Fellows

I think many of us suffer from a disease of isolation that keeps us from reaching out and finding support or friendship.  There is a trust issue and an ego issue.  We think our problems are so much worse than anyone else's and that no one could possibly understand.  What I have learned in this program is that we are very much the same....different names and ages, we live at all corners of the world but our pain, our problems, our hopes and dreams are very much alike.  The problem is that we can never know this to be true unless we trust enough to share our feelings with friends and fellows.  I have friends because I am willing to take a chance and be honest with my feelings and my struggles.  This program offers an even safer avenue for us.  The fellows here are anonymous and we can speak out, share our stories and stay safely behind our computer screens.  How much easier could it be?  What you give out comes back to you.  I am learning to:

  • share my feelings honestly
  • tell my stories trusting no one will do me harm
  • encourage others as I would want them to encourage me
  • take time to work on the tools and to develop friendships
  • give 100% of my energy to this work

I never would have believed that I would take the time to blog.

b l o g ?

Blogging is opening up to others, sharing your life and your pain as well as your success and encouragement.  Blogs allow us to reach out and touch one another in surprising ways and to gain strength and understanding from people all across the world.  I think it's a good thing.
