I enjoyed reading your blog post today about kids pushing buttons. You have a gift for writing truth in humour. The post made my day. :-D

Thanks tons for your encouragement. It is really needed and appreciated. I am originally from Washington State. Most of my boys are there now along with my grandsons. I only have one boy with me now and he is really a man, not a boy anymore.:)

I have been a bit leary of writing this.  Not because I'm shy about talking about myself, (hey...I"m an actor, what actor doesn't love talking about himself?), but because I really want the story to be perfect (hey, I'm a writer and director, what writer/director want's someone to see the work before it's perfect?) and because there are so many sides to me (hey, I'm married with kids, what husband/dad doesn't know there are many sides to every story?).

But here goes.  I am the youngest of 5 children born to a Lutheran minister and his wife.  This was an enviably loving family (despite what I liked to tell my friends in Jr. High).  My closest sibling is 13 years older than I am, so I felt more like I had 5 sets of parents instead of 2 bro's and 2 sis's.

Da missus and Da Boyz are wonderful and sometimes present... ahem... opportunities for personal growth...even as I kick and scream about it...

I strive to be an artist in all areas of my life.  I read a quote from Robert DeNiro recently, "There is a certain combination of anarchy and discipline in the way I work."  I think that's the only way to live.  Even the best accountant is an artist and must recognize that anarachy and discipline is the only way to succeed.

Anybody have a good, simple, 10-step or less time management system (and stay away from me with your 80/20 principle - there is NO aspect of my life to which that applies!)?

What is your answer?

I joined TOOLS because:
I want to increase my focus on my goals.
You are offered your dream job. What job is it?:
I owner/operator/CEO of an art centre -- that allows me time and space to do creative writing, direct plays and films and even act occasionally.
My favorite wild animal is:
I don't remember the name of it - I saw it at the zoo once - it has a completely different look from the back side to the front - like an animal that was glued together by a confused child.
Why (describe as much as possible):
I like being eclectic and having a variety of interests - and that looks personifies that (or...well..animalizes it)
My favorite domestic animal is (if you choose dog be specific with breed etc):
Well...I like cats and dogs - but prefer mutts and mixed breeds.
Why:
Again - how eclectic thang...plus I think pure breeds are usually snooty or crazy because of cruel forced breeding.
A famous Chef will prepare anything you want. What do you order:
 Sushi, my friend...sushi!
Why:
Huh? What kind of crazy question is that - I like sushi?
Five people either dead or alive you would have at your fantasy dinner party::
Jesus, Ghandi, Laurie Anderson, William S. Burroughs, Dali Lama
Why:
Jesus because I like what he has to say, but he has some 'splainin' to do, Ghandi and Dali Lama - because I love their energy and soft humor. Laurie Anderson because she seems to approach every aspect of her life as an artist. WSB because of the way he talks...and it's always good to invite one really crazy person to your party (besides, he's a friend of Laurie Anderson)
If a pilot would fly you anywhere you want, you would go to:
 Japan
My perfect slice of pizza is:
 Whole wheat crust, double olives.
You are at a bar. You order this drink:
Depends on the day and the hour. Martini or Bloody Mary if early enough in the day. Whiskey or Brandy after dinner...maybe beer or wine during dinner
You are at a coffee shop. What coffee or tea do you order:
Mocha Caffe Latte (but only if you're paying)
If a genie could grant you three wishes they would be (separate by commas):
 1) $60,000 a year job in the arts 2) $20,000 + in savings, 20g in college funds for each of the boys. 3) Health happiness peace and success for all my family
You are going on a long road trip and you can only bring three CD's. Which ones do you bring (separate by commas):
Laurie Anderson's 4 tape set, Beatles Sargent Pepper, They Might Be Giants Greatest Hits (if such a thing exists)
If I could do anything for my neighborhood today, it would be:
Get rid of some of the condos and put in mom and pop stores.
A sunset I remember:
In Texas with my family - listening to the hostess of the campground describe the colors of the sunset.
Any character I could be from a movie, TV show or book would be:
My first thought was Gatsby in Great Gatsby...but for a nicer reason..
Why:
I want to see if I could use the money he had for good and not evil.
