I am a 65 year old woman who has been living in Alaska for 35 years.  I grew up in Pennsylvania, moved to Ohio at 24, moved to Michigan at 28, became a mother at 29 and at 30 years of age decided to come to Alaska with my husband, my 18 month old son and 2 other male friends.  We came in a converted school bus in October, 1971.  It was quite the adventure and challenge.  I have worked various places here and am now retired.  I am pleased to have found this spot because it makes me think and creates a lot of self-examination.  If anything will take a retired person out of rut, "Tools" will!

I have always helped as many people as I could when they needed my help.  I've been a high-school student mentor, completed a Triatholon (although I'm not an athlete and finished last, I completed it and claim fame to raising the most money).  In my pre-retirement I was an accomplished fund-raiser for many charities.  I am a Social Security representative payee and a mental health advocate.  I am a certified Personal Care Attendent.

I am on day 42 and realize that my  life is not over yet and I have much to accomplish.  Thank you so much, Coach!
