Body Makeover challenge-day 2

I am trying the Body Makeover Challenge. In day 2 they go over all the things to throw out and not to eat.  My initial reaction is that it may be too Pritiken-like: meaning so restrictive that it cannot be sustained.    It was billed as not a fad diet program. But I will give it a try.  I am at a point where I MUST get back on tract physically to meet the challenges ahead and to enjoy the next 20 years I am counting on.  Even if it is a program I cannot maintain as a lifestyle, it should definitely give me a jump start.

Hopefully, I am just being pessimistic, but I want to be honest in this blog

Willing to see

Keep going; let us know what you think. Without spoiling the surprises for anyone, I think you will find there is plenty to eat. I'm glad to hear you are so keen on and invested in your health and well being.

Keep your eye on the goal!

Hi Phantom,

A lot of people say that this is not a sustainable program however, a couple weeks into it they feel the benefit and figure out the little tricks that make it work for them.  I am type II diabetic and control my blood sugar and weight using this system and no medication.  I have helped hundreds of other diabetics who all say the same thing at first...I'll do t for 6 weeks but then I won't be able to sustain this....then they change their tune.  Just experience it and you'll see the difference.  Don't forget to look for our inspirations for tips that make life a lot easier on the program!  Thanks.

Yours in Good Health,

Kris Reid

The truth isn’t always convenient.

It may be easier to reach for foods that do not promote good health. My job is to take you from point “A” to point “B” in the fastest and healthiest way possible (a straight line).   It may make me unpopular but I can only tell you the truth.  Our health is one of the most precious things that we have. Our habits catch up with us and as a nation we are undisputedly becoming “soft.”  I believe we can change and shift our food focus from “convenience” to “excellence.” This program is a lifestyle change and every single person is worth it.

Stay Strong,

Alisa

Doubt

It does seem restrictive.

I suffered an inner hissy fit upon learning of the zero tolerance for dairy and wine.

I'm going to give this a go as I've recently become aware that I NEED to tend to some neglect that I've subjected my body to - but I'll admit right now that I'll definitely have to put my own spin on this program.

I know without even going there that if I place a bunch of none too pleasant restrictions on myself, all efforts will be tossed aside (probably sooner than later) in favor of a glass of wine and enough dairy to at least make a decent coffee.

Thanks for contributing this honest post. I thought I might be the only one thinking that the list of items to toss was a bit over the top.

Having said that, I'm with you in making some positive changes & giving this a try !!

(...I'll just be cheating a little)
