says: I have a really similar pattern! And I was randomly flitting around showing a friend all about tools, and came across you! I share with you what has helped me. This program for one! It has certainly helped to stay positive and also to reflect on what I can control, which is me! and only me! My boss was similar and also became very depressed in the time that I was working with him. I have a history of 'looking after' such people. But it is not good for me, so I decided to not do that. It did not go well initially, but what I decided was that my life and well-being was more important than any job, even though I loved it. And realising that gave me the strength to state what I needed and what I would allow from others. And while things were hairy for a while, my life now is so much better and I LOVE my job and I am no longer directly responsible to this person, AND as a result of the blow-up between us, he is finally being forced to look after himself by work (how successful that is remains to be seen) but at least a long-standing issue is now being dealt with!
