My musical tastes are very eclectic: I love so many kinds of music from heavy metal to any opera sung by Maria Callas; Vivaldi, Chopin and all Baroque music; my favourite musician is Nigel Kennedy; I love the haunting chants of Deva Premal, and my favourite German neo-alternative/rock group is Klangstrahler Project.

Books:

One of my favourites is C.G. Jung's "Modern Man in Search of a Soul" I like novels where the action takes place in India, a country which fascinates me. I also like Jane Austen, the "Borrowers" series by Mary Norton, the "Mapp & Lucia" books by E.F. Benson and many others too numerous to mention.

Favorite Places:

I love exploring New York and London and Paris because they are so vital and exciting and cultured, but my very favourite place is a lake in a northern Canadian forest, though my fondest dream is to live near the ocean.

I Want To See:

Machu Pichu and Lake Titicaca, the pyramids, the american deserts in the spring time.

Hobbies:

I like to write and to make art in the form of journaling and altered books, I also like to paint. I like to take photographs.

Activities:

Gardening is one of my favourite activities because I love plants and insects and birds. I like to cook too, especially for a group of friends and family gatherings. I like to walk the neighbor's dog every day because he is always enclosed in a small space and I like to see him frolic and savour some freedom on our walks together.

Sports:

I used to be a fencer but that was many years ago. I have also been skydiving twice, but that also was years ago. Now I love to walk in the woods, canoe, snowshoe in winter and worship the sun a few minutes at a time.

Movies:

Rear Window, La Strada, 8 1/2, The Smell of Green Papaya, Roshomon, Die Grosse Stille.

TV:

My favourite form of tv entertainment is the documentary. I also enjoy current affairs programs, especially those with a political bent. I often watch TVO becasue it really is intelligent television. For series I enjoy the Canadian production Intelligence, CSI, Prison Break, Lost, Desperate Housewives and I like the Daily Show.

Heroes:

Jacques Cousteau for giving us the opportunity to view another world, Oprah Winfrey because she's gutsy and goes for it and because she cares, firemen for being so brave, and all those underpaid menial workers who do the jobs nobody else wants and that are so necessary to our well-being. And, last but not least my fantastic children who pursue their dreams with such gusto.

The guy who invented the square bathtub, so I can tell him he's an idiot; Martha Stewart, so we can discuss and compare our anal retentive perfectionist traits; Maria Callas so I can worship at her feet while she sings (yes, I know she's dead).

I joined TOOLS because:

I am at a point in my life where I need to learn who I am right now, and what I want and need to be. I need techniques and support to get there.

You are offered your dream job. What job is it?:

writing or teaching art workshops or doing art therapy.

My favorite wild animal is:

I like the crow.

Why (describe as much as possible):

The crow always chooses the highest tree to live in. It mates for life and it collects shiny objects to keep in its nest. I also like the raucous noise it makes, it seems to be saying "Here I am and I have every right to be."

My favorite domestic animal is (if you choose dog be specific with breed etc):

I love a striped tabby cat.

Why:

They are so gentle and smart. I had one who could open my dresser drawer with sweaters in it so it would have something soft to sleep on. There was another one who figured out how to turn the lights off, and would do it every night when a lot of people were around so it would get a reaction. It would just jump up and turn off the switch. Later I had two females who would give each other a break by taking care of each others kittens, cleaning and nursing them.

A famous Chef will prepare anything you want. What do you order:

An exquisite salad, a flavourful bisque, crepes Suzette for dessert, all vegetarian of course.

Why:

Because I love animals and wish that they would never have to suffer the way they do.

Five people either dead or alive you would have at your fantasy dinner party::

Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, David Suzuki, Vandana Shiva, Barak Obama.

Why:

Because they are smart, rich and powerful and could do so much to change the world and make it a better place.

If a pilot would fly you anywhere you want, you would go to:

Australia to see the sun rise on Ayers Rock; a totally luscious deserted island I could spend a few days exploring with a good companion; a little cottage in a wooded area on the edge of a meadow with hundreds of different kinds of wild-flowers.

My perfect slice of pizza is:

Thin crust, double sauce, mozzarella, tomatoes, green onions, green and black olives, artichokes.

You are at a bar. You order this drink:

Pina colada, so yummy.

You are at a coffee shop. What coffee or tea do you order:

A soy chai or a decadent cappucino or a dark roast blend of shade grown Yemen/Sumatra (all organic and fair trade of course).

A perfectly healthy body for all my life, an unspoiled natural environment for all the world, true equality and peace among all peoples.

Ban all motorized gardening implements, and vehicles that run on gasoline.

A sunset I remember:

Alone on deserted Matanzas beach in early summer, stripes of white sand alternating with stripes of shiny crushed pink shells that glow in the light, palms gently waving, the smell of salt, the sound of waves and sea birds and nothing else for miles.

Any character I could be from a movie, TV show or book would be:

Tom Sawyer, because he does what he wants, has a lot of adventures and always lands on his feet.
