I am a supervisor and when my staff complains to me about the other staff person not doing their job, I discuss the concern with the co-worker that staff is complaing about and the staff get mad. This is my first supervisory postion and I like my job but it's getting to the point to where it is making me sick with anxeity and stress they make up excuses, they lie, the try to cheat the clock and I can't catch them when I am there they are up running around trying to do everything but as soon as they think I am gone they are laying on the couch sleeping and talking on the phone what can I do about this situation I am at my wits end help? Give me some answers quickly.

One of the better things that you can do is to compliment the good things.

 

eg. "Sue, I like it when you did that today, you worked quickly and efficiently and got the job done without getting frustrated - Great Job"

 

If you catch people doing good things and compliment them for doing a "great job" they do more of the same.

 

Good luck, and remember that being a supervisor means that you bust barriers for your team.
