This is probably good for a laugh as I look back on the events of yesterday. I have been keeping up with the work in tools and feel like I have made a lot of progress in a lot of different areas of my life. Its kind of a blur as I think back on all of the different topics that Devlyn has covered over my 53 days in this program. Everyone knows the program, we watch a video, listen to a podcast, read more on the topic, due some excercises and eventually make our way to an updated checklist of things we are committed to getting done during the day.
So a few weeks back(I think) the topic of the day was taking a second to take care of things that you know you should now vs. putting them off. Each day my day seems to start earlier and earlier, I am getting my workouts in before work and before I get into the rest of my day. Anyways when I get going in the morning I have noticed that the sink in my bathroom is not draining properly and accumulates water at a pretty quick pace. Its fine for washing up etc. but anything more than a minute and it gets close to the overflow mark. I have been saying to myself since at least the first of the year I have to get this fixed!!
Yesterday was a picture perfect day so I decided to clean out both of my cars, I had been blowing this off and I figured it would be good excuseto be outside. So there I am ipod cranked up, cleaning my cars, feeling good cause my workout for the day was done and I am getting my cars cleaned out. Somewhere along the line I got some oil or something on my hands and needed to get it cleaned off. So I do what anyone else would, wash my hands in my bathroom sink, problem is I got my ipod cranked up and forgot to turn the water off. 20 minutes later I have a flood in my bathroom, water pooring over the sides of my vanity, enough water in my vanity drawers for a school of fish and to make matters worse the water made its way into my basement sealing. Needless to say 3 hours later with the help of
a steam cleaner and a new dehumdifier I am back to normal(mostly).
If only I had taken a second during any of the countless hours in 2010 up until now to get that drain cleaned out, this all could have been avoided.
At least I can laugh at, and yes that damn drain is finally unclogged!!

Love it
We have all been there and done that
Just chalk it up as,"lesson learned." Guess what, in some area of your life you will do it again, and you will say to yourself, "I know better." Guess what, you do know better!
That's what we do, we know better, and we get better and hopefully as we do, we have less floods.
Great story, thanks for sharing...
Devlyn
great story (and lesson)
I've done things like that more than I care to share! It's no fun cleaning up the mess that resulted, but it sure does make for a good story. I choose to believe that those humorous stories are what help us remember the lesson learned the next time we are in a similar circumstance.. well, hopefully before we get that far!
Thanks for sharing!
