Aha! moments

Another aha! moment this week! I received an email from the twins father, as usual it was full of victim language and twists in the truth. My response included  my saying I didn't appreciate his "poor pity me" sob story to get me to agree with what he wanted. To which, of course, he attacked me back .

Oh my!! did I see my old self!! No wonder my relationships didn't work! Partly because I was not accountable for my choices and partly because I have chosen to be with men who have behaved in the same way. All the blaming!! Accusing each other of not being responsible, of not owning our own decisions, choices, and situations, etc.

So, as I was processing all this this week, trying to figure out how I could have responded to his email in a more positive, responsible manner, along comes a chapter on not judging!! I had realized that he is not ready to learn the things I have learned this year, so it is up to me to learn not to trigger his attack response. By not judging him, I can respond to him in a non-reactive, more positive manner.

All in all, I had a week of AHA! moments, not just with my ex but in other areas as well!

I am so grateful for this program!!
