sold a piece !

i'm not sure if this is a breakthrough, a milestone, or a success story.  perhaps all three.  but here it is:  one of my bracelets was put in a jewelry art show.  i was encouraged to price it at $600  --at least.   it all seemed crazy and far-fetched to me.  i wasn't even going to attend the opening; i planned on waiting tables that night.  my husband, however, talked me into going to the opening...

and my bracelet sold for $600.

and i was gobsmacked, of course.

the gallery called a couple of days later and asked if i would be willing to make another bracelet.  apparently someone else  wanted one too.   i'm very tickled, and keep asking, "can i call myself an artist now?"

i'm so thankful for my husband and my friends who have always believed in my abilities.  and tools. too.  little by little--and now, more quickly-- i am believing, myself.   external validation is nowhere near as important as the internal satisfaction that i have always gotten from creating, but it sure gives a nice coat of icing on the cake.

if you don't put a high value on yourself, don't expect anyone elase to raise the price... (paraphrased) author unknown... it makes since though

Of course you are an artist. If you believe you are, then you are.
