I joined TOOLS because:
I want to be happier and do things with my life that I can be proud of.
You are offered your dream job. What job is it?:
I would love to be the head sommelier at a fabulous hotel or resort and work along side other passionate people in the industry.
My favorite wild animal is:
Birds, any kind. except death eaters
Why (describe as much as possible):
I don't know actually. I just like to watch them. When I was younger and was learning to draw and paint, I would always default back to birds. I found them easy to draw from life, and their natural form expresses such a dramatic array of motion. like little dancers
My favorite domestic animal is (if you choose dog be specific with breed etc):
 kitty cats
Why:
Because I have two and they're so cute. They're always happy and glad to see me. Or tired and uninterested. I'm not one of those crazy cat ladies. I know my kitties aren't smart, thats why they won't walk across my glass coffee table, and why they drink out of the toilet. but they're still cute
A famous Chef will prepare anything you want. What do you order:
oh geez. if its french, game hen or some kind of tarte. if its italian I like rare red meat. I also like seafood dishes.
Why:
I go through food fazes. I'll fixate on one thing for a while, and have it many different ways. right now i'm really into pop corn and champagne. but it has to be really buttery.
Five people either dead or alive you would have at your fantasy dinner party::
mmm, painter Gustav Klimt. author Charlotte Bronte. my great great great grand mama Corryn Sadler, who was a very fine southern lady. I don't know who else. other people of a similar era and class
Why:
Well I would like my party to be very fancy, with many courses and lots of pretty wine. I would like to have Klimt because I love his work, its very romantic. His use of metallics is so decadent. I would have Charlotte, or any, Bronte because I like her books. I can read Jane Eyre over and over again. I would like to meet my grand mama because all the pictures I have seen of her are very fine and fancy with her pretty dresses and jewelry. I think she would be an interesting girl to talk to, she was a little girl during the American Civil War, and her family was involved in the domestic agriculture of that area and era. I just don't know of the others. Obviously people of a similar time, so that the conversation wasn't awkward. Also, myself
If a pilot would fly you anywhere you want, you would go to:
I just don't know...france? I would like to see St. Emilion. And Alaska, because I'm from the north also, and I haven't been to that corner or the continent
My perfect slice of pizza is:
would have mozzarella, feta. olives, fresh tomatoes, pineapples, spinach, mushrooms. but the sauce have to have a sweet note to it. it just doesn't make sense to have salty toppings and salty sauce. you need that salt sweet foil
You are at a bar. You order this drink:
i would say wine, but the then everyone would think i was a pretentious jerk. so i would have maybe vodka cran. i don't really like the taste of many spirits.
You are at a coffee shop. What coffee or tea do you order:
 black coffee
If a genie could grant you three wishes they would be (separate by commas):
a gorgeous home here in Canada some place tucked away where the mountains and prairie begin to blend with chickens and a cow and a really nice garden, oh man. I don't know what else. If i asked for a talent I would just be a phony, and I would feel guilty about whatever praise I received for it.
You are going on a long road trip and you can only bring three CD's. Which ones do you bring (separate by commas):
a gypsy kings cd, maybe something classical, and I don't know what else. more classical? I like peaceful drives with lots of conversation on a long long trip
If I could do anything for my neighborhood today, it would be:
my neighbors haven't done much to inspire me to do things for them. one of them is wanted by the police for robbing a few places and committing credit fraud. the guy below me does drugs and plays techno super duper loud so it shakes the pictures on my walls. and the dude above me yells at his girl friend and says 'i'm gonna punch your f***ing lights out!' and he makes her cry all the time and he's really big with a face tattoo and she's so little, i think he's mean. I might bring the guy below me some cookies, he's quite thin
A sunset I remember:
I was maybe fifteen and I took this green canoe out on what people call spindrift bay in Babine lake British Columbia. I'm not good with a canoe, but good enough not to flip it over. So I paddled out to look at these petroglyphs that are painted on the sheer rock face of this island in the middle of the bay. The glyphs are pre-Columbian (i'm not sure if you can give that designation to north western Canadian artifacts and the like, but you get what i mean, same time frame) and depict a meteor strike. Its all done in red and brown and yellow and is quite faded, but it looks like a modern sun burst pattern, with what look like jelly fish swimming away from it. there is also and man and what the literature from the area has decided is a dog. Because of how dramatically the water levels have dropped since it was written, you really have to crane and look up to see it when you get right close to the rock face, which is perpendicular to the surface of the water. its quite spectacular. The surroundings are so beautiful. I'm there so often but I will always remember that evening because I went there by myself and it was the first time that I ever really looked at it and tried to understand what they could have meant it to say. When you're down in a canoe and the water is very still you can see so clearly to the bottom. It feels like you're in the water because you're sitting so low. The sky was orange and red and pink, just amazing. it didn't last very long but it was very pretty. The colours of the sky reflected onto the water and the tin roofs of the homes on the shore. it was really special
Any character I could be from a movie, TV show or book would be:
mmm, it would have to be some lady out of a girly book, like Mansfield park. yes, i'll say Mansfield park.
Why:
I really love that book because all the pain she goes through and all the sad things that she has to endure make the ending so sweet. There is so much subtlety and intrigue involved in the human interaction of novels by Austin (and Bronte and Dostoevsky and many many others, i'm into romance) I would just like to be in those situations and know what it feels like to come out on top and bear everything in between gracefully.
