making a living

Is there anyone out there or is anyone friends w/ anyone who is able to pay the bills, well, being a vagabond of sorts? I don't mean a single person either, I am a divorced father of 4...I now have full custody of my oldest daughter (14) and shared custody of the other 3 (6,8, 11- three to five days a week). If you are familiar w/ my profile, I got laid off from my job of 9 years almost 2 months ago.....the more I have thought it over, the more I would like to be a bit of a vagabond- making $$ here and there. I am currently training w/ a job that lends tremendous flexibility- make my own schedule, etc....selling credit/debit card and payroll systems. Good $$, commisions, residuals, etc....also, I want to be part of an art co-op in a gallery next door, and also would like to find a band to gig with 1-2 days a week, and also the life coahing.....anyway, I guess I am a little fearful to proceed like this because I have never done it and I don't know of anyone who has....I suppose that shouldn't matter, but I am just trying to be honest that this all makes me nervous, mainly because I am just about broke!
