I grew up in a pretty affluent area in Perth Western Australia. I had a pretty sheltered childhood and was pretty naive growing up.

I wasn't a very cool kid in school but had enough friends. I took a lot of drugs in the years following school which actually helped me learn a lot about other people and also about myself. I learned that I only needed to be myself and that I am a pretty cool person.

At the age of 22 I decided to enroll in University. For the bulk of it, I cruised through and graduated without too much trouble.

I have been fortunate to work some good jobs but found myself very bored back in Perth and ended up with a mild form of depression. I saw a councilor and came through it pretty well but I learned that it was time for me to leave Australia for a while.

I moved to Vancouver with the aim of working on the 2010 Winter Olympics and I have been lucky enough to do exactly that. The word lucky probably doesn't give myself enough credit though.

I'm not sure where I am going to end up after the Winter Olympics. I really like it here but I don't love it enough to stay.

I like the idea of continuing to travel and work on major events for another 4-5 years.

I am having the time of my life but I sometimes wonder about whether I am having too much fun. I am building a foundation for the future with the experience that I am getting but I should be saving more and living a little better and contributing more to people with less.
