You sound very motivated in your desire to lose a bunch of weight. :) It can happen, too.
I am a petite 5'2" but towards my 50th birthday, I took a radical approach to getting back into shape and losing about 15 pounds. I've never had a problem with my weight but I think menopause started putting me in the bracket of aches, pains, and weight gain. So, I decided enough is enough! I began watching what I eat a lot more rigorously, and I also started an exercise program of weights and cardio. I have always exercised but realized I needed to up the time and energy more than I ever had before. It worked! I lost it all within a few months, and then noticed that with the increased energy I had that there was no problem maintaining either.
I now watch what I eat but more so, I exercise and lift weight regularly. I also feel that my attitude was the major change, since I almost accepted the fact that I was getting old and probably would never be thin again. I was so wrong! I am so glad I did not fall into that frame of mind.
I truly believe I am healthier and happier than I have been in a very long time. I want to enjoy my grandchildren, but I don't want to grow "old" so to speak. I accept the change, but I also want to be as young as I possibly can to live a fruitful and health life for my husband and kids.
I like tools to life because it really is a change of mind and perspective that makes the weight come off so much easier.
Thanks for posting in my site and hope we can continue blogging. Good luck!

Hi
Teresa~*
I'm a Sparker, too. I have lost approximately 40 pounds, but, unlike you, I have several more pounds to lose.
I am learning about myself here, and I realized that I grew up hearing some pretty negative things, and kept repeating them as an adult. Now it's time to deal with the past, and re-train my brain to think positive, affirming things. You can NEVER be too positive. So I think SparkPeople and TTL are a good combo because they touch on all of the issues. You simply cannot go wrong!
Congrats on your weight loss and I hope that your journey here leads you to the life that you seek and deserve!
