I did it!

I found it! I found the job that I asked for. Shortly after I was let go of my previous job, I started to work at another floor covering store a couple of days a week while someone recovered from an automobile accident. The owner hadn't intended to hire anyone new, but he liked my work and I ended up replacing a girl who had been there for three years. My advise to anyone looking is - it pays to do good work, regardless of circumstances, I could hav shown up and been a warm body because I knew Tim just needed someone to be in the office. But instead, I went in and cleaned, put away samples and clutter-and ended up redesigning the layout of the place. I replaced two areas with new flooring (that I got from sales reps for free) -painted the bathroom, and am currently working on a mosaic mirror for the bathroom. The thing is-I could have chosen mediocrity-but I chose going the extra mile. I am grateful that I was able to ask my salary and receive health benefits as well. I recently was offerred commission as well. I didn't expect it-but see-Tim saw value in my being here. It's an awesome thing to be rewarded, and I feel good about it. Glory to The One Above for that !

Go Girl

I think the tough thing for lots of people when they lose their jobs is that they stop working as well, so they have "too much time to think".

Good on you for keeping going and finding a job you love.  It sounds like you went the extra mile and I am guessing that the customers will get the benefit of that as well.

Have a great day! Angie
