There is a class I would like to take for PTSD.  But I have to have a support person with me.  I asked my daughter and she will not give me a answer, as to weither or not she will do it with me.   I talked to the dr and he said let her talk to me.   But she has not called him back yet.   How do I get her to understand that this is very important to me?

says: Hi tk182, Thumbs-up to you! Sometimes letting the PTSD class leader know that what is holding you back is lacking a support person can help in being assigned to a voluntary support person. They may have such a ressource. Bravo, to keep on taking the best care of yourself. CHEERS TO YOU! you have asked your daughter, now that this is done, keep on asking...I truly believe that in doing so, you will be matched with an even better support than you can imagine at this time on your own. all the best to you on this, elise50

Hey TK,

We can't make anyone with freewill do something they don't want to do.  Just like leading a horse to water.

Your question was how to get your daughter to understand this is important to you.

The only suggestion I have is face to face, eyeball to eyeball, with no other distractions at the moment, when you are both calm.

None the less, her involvement is her decision.

I hope that helps and it works out for you...

be blessed

says: Thanks   I don't have anyone else

says: I think you should ask someone else. As mom I don't like my children (they are adults) to know too much of what is in my head.
