feeling motivated

 i live so far up north that at christmas time there is only a few hours of sunlight in a day. when the darkness has been there for 2 months it seems there is no way out. you go to your work when it is dark and come home when it is dark.

now that the climate has gotten warmer, there isn't any snow to bring light to the winter. yep - the climate has really gotten warmer! this is the second year in a row when the snow starts to stay on the ground as late as in the mid of january.

this is something that has gotten too overwhelming in the last five years. last autumn i was wondering how am i to survive this winter. it really frightened me as i have started to feel almost paralyzed at christmas time because there just isn't sun light.

luckily i got inspiration from tools this time and it got me thinking. i can do something about this. all i have to do is to move somewhere south - where there is sunlight through out the year. i decided that i would move to a country where the language is spanish as i had studied it a couple of years back.

i started taking action:
    •    last week i went to the library to get language courses to brush up my spanish.
    •    this week i contacted friends who i met when i was an exchange student at the Netherlands and who live in spain these days.
    •    today i received a message from my friend from spain and found out i could stay at barcelona / spain for as long as it would take to find a job there.

dreaming about going to live somewhere south had gotten me to brush up my spanish, taking contact to my friend just to find out i have a place at barcelona to stay in as i look for a job!

now i am very motivated to finish my masters degree and go job hunting in Spain before the winter darkness hits Finland next autumn. the next step for me is to finish my thesis and get my degree. study more spanish and figure out what else i have to get sorted before i leave.

the point i tried to make here is:
i really think that the things we dream about (visualize) come true.  all we have to do is to take action!    

i feel so alive :)
