Well it is finally here - today is my birthday, and I am 31! It is quite wierd really, as I felt very wierd about it ( as per my previous blog ) but in reality it was a really good day.

I got some really lovely presents by the people close to me which was great! I also managed to spend time with most of them over the last 24 hours or so..

Myself and Tracy then went for a meal at one of our favourite places, followed by the new Indiana Jones film ( which is cool!!!) and some shopping where I brought a couple of CD's a book and some Jeans!!!

After that, a trip to my mothers for some tea ( and birthday cake - naughty me!!) before going home and relaxing.

Someone actually sent me a really funny but true card:

It said basically that statistics prove that the more birthdays you have the longer you will live!! - Kind of obvious really when you think about it!!

Have a great day!

31 And Counting

In the next few days, it will be my birthday - 31 years old and counting!!

However, as with every birthday, it provides me with many mixed emotions that are hard to explain in writing - but thought this year I would try!!

Every birthday, I feel a sense of disapointment that I am another year older, but haven't achieved what I wanted as of yet. But as soon as my birthday comes and goes, it provides me with immense motivation to make the next year the best ever ( this year I hope it is!!)

Also, I feel very happy and proud that I am who I am, and the life that I have - I feel very lucky to be who I am - However I feel very emotional in relation to the missed opportunities in life, and the loved ones who are no longer in my life for one reason or another. There are people who I will never forget about...

I don't worry about the age and being a year older, it is just a number - I guess my mind starts working overtime at this time of year. It feels good to write about them though.

Well thanks for reading! and If I am still part of the community/support team in 12 months time look out for a similar blog!!

I would like to say thank you and well done to all the great people on the programs. I have been amazingly proud of how many of you have made their lives better through their own sheer hard work. Keep up the great work

Oliver

Tools To Life

My pool playing is officially rubbish!!!

In reference to my last blog, where I mentioned going back to play pool again - Well I have and it didn't go very well!!

It is very obvious that by not playing for a long time has made me lose/forget a certain amount of what I have learnt - so am now spending time trying to catch up and learn!

With that in mind - it also struck me as very important not to rest on mine/our laurels with everything that we learn in life.

So because of that, as well as my pool playing skills getting a refresher, I will be looking at refreshing everything in my life!!!

Keep up the great work guys! and don't rest on your laurels and forget everything amazing that you have all done!

P.s off to practice some Pool now!!

After a 4-5 year absence - this week I started to play pool for a local team - mainly in part to my brother! He has played for many years, and wanted me to come along...

One of the main reasons was that I really needed to spend more time with my family. I have worked so hard for the last few years, that I have drifted away from my family a little bit. So Iam playing pool - which I love playing!! and also going to work with my mother to build a website for her charity which will be good!

However, on the work front - I have worked hard to make more of my time lately, so that I work a lot more efficient than before!!

I will also make sure that I write more on my blogs in the coming weeks!!

Finally, I would again like to say thanks for the many nice emails I get ( please never hesitate in sending them!!) and to say well done to everyone who has made such great progress in their lives.

My Holiday!

Approximately three weeks ago, me, my girlfriend and her family went on holiday for about 5 days. As usual, with everyone I am sure, we had to go through some military style planning to make sure we ( meaning I as I am the most forgetfull!) packed everything and had everything done.

Eventually we were on our way, and starting our 4 hour journey to the far west of the UK. Great journey apart the occasional idiot trying to either race us or run us of the road.

But as soon as I got to the sea, the view, fresh air and quietness of it made it all worthwhile!! We had arrived and it was deserted - but better than that - it was sunny!!!!

For the next 4-5 days, we spent a lot of our time going for nice long walks along the clifftop and the beach - and the rest relaxing somewhere sunny!!

During this holiday, I must have lost like 2-3 pounds in weight, purely through walking that much ( also hurt my back somehow it appears but ah well ) But more importantly, it was great to forget the pressures of life for those few days, and act like a big kid splashing around in the sea!

I even had this little "mini" adventure! The only place I could get a phone/internet signal was on the very top of the cliff. So I would get up early, run up the cliff, get the messages, then run back down, jump over a stream run up the sand dunes and to the shop to get a newspaper!!

Without going on for too much more, it was a great time - Pictures being updated soon!! - but more importantly, it serves a purpose

There is always space in life to have those moments to act like a big kid and have silly fun - It really refreshed me and can't wait till the next one!!

Wishing you a great day!!

Oliver

Tools To Life

Funny story!

I was at work this monday just gone, doing my usual routine of taking phone calls etc, when all of a sudden I heard a really familiar voice. I looked up, and couldn't believe my eyes.

My very close friend who had moved to South Africa 10 months previously was standing there smiling at me as if he had basically never been away. This was a major shock but a really fantastic one - I had really missed him.

Now for the reason of those damm E-mails! He had emailed me a couple of weeks previously to tell me what was happening, and for some reason the email bounced! WAS NOT happy when I heard that!

But on the plus side, it made my week, well in fact year!! So starting to plan things to catch up with him and his family!

So - I am now officially a happy bunny!!!

Oliver
