I resisted a binge and eating late

I didn't drink enough water today and read something that upset me emotionally.  I started to think "what the heck...." and I ate stuff that wasn't on my eating plan but I resisted a big binge.  I stopped fairly quickly and told myself that I would stay within my calorie limit if I quit now and I asked myself "what do I want most?  the food or to be healthy and fit?"   That was the end of that episode.

Later, I excercised extra and felt good about my day.

then at 11 pm I had the strongest urge to eat something.  I felt so hungry!  I told myself that I could resist for 5 minutes and the chances are the hunger would disappear.  I told myself that every time I get hungry late at night it means I'm losing weight and to just drink water.  I drank some water and after about 5-10 min, I sighed with relief!  The hunger was gone.

This is big for me.  Normally, I cave and once I start...it can go on a long time.

This time, I feel good about my thoughts and actions and about sticking with my focus on what I want most.  I can pat myself on the back for staying within my calorie range and for not eating and eating to deal with emotions.

I need to drink that water!!  I keep getting busy and forgetting.  So I need to do better in that area but I'm still proud of myself for this breakthrough.
