ttl20518 well done!
I have suffered from crazy phobic fear of public speaking over the years. I have found that there is only one solution - KEEP PRESENTING.
I actually came clean to my employers a few years ago and admitted that I had been hiding from opportunties to present because of fear of public speaking. The stress incolved in avoiding this stuff is enormous. They were totally great - they said we are proud of you and we'll support you. I have had to really push myself. I now present regularly in groups (10-15) with no trouble.
I will tell you a secret that calms m y nerves everytime. Befopre I am about to start, I engage with the audience. i chat confortably about anything "I like your jacket" "hey, what about that game on the weekend?" It calms me down, and tricks me into feeling I have already started the presentation.
I also find that the nest way you can overcome nerves is to be totally interested in what you are presenting. Don't forget, you may not be the worlds best presenter, but at that time, you have something important to impact to your audience. Foprgetting about the audience is something trained teachers learn to do very early on - they are so caught up in the material they don't even think about what the audience are thinking. The more excited you are about your material to present, and how you presnet it, the less nervous you will be, I promise.
KEEP PRESENTING. Volunteer to do it. Don't let yourself out of it. Good luck. I'm proud of you, because I know how tough this fear can be.
