scared

My mini dachshund is at the emergency vet right now having tests done. She has an unexplained fever and general pain.  In order to find out what it may be - they are doing a series of tests on her - and I have already $425 and do not even know if this is a minor thing or something life threatening.

My dogs are like children to me - I cannot bear this.

The expense is one thing. That is bad enough.  But if she does not survive this I will fall apart.  As it is I could not help myself from crying while trying to talk to the vet.   I am an adult with a PhD and I can usually talk to a very large crowd with no problem.  But when it comes to doctors and such, I just fall apart easily.  It is stupid.

We're here for you

It's not stupid to be emotional over our pets.  They are like children.  Hang in there - we here.

It's Normal

It is normal to be emotional and it is okay to cry.  Hang in there and keep us posted.
