I'm so glad
Susan-I'm so glad to hear your pup isn't really ill - whew! Thanks for updating us.
Good news
...except for the $$$$!!!!!!!
But they are worth it, arent they?
Steve
Is he depressed?
You said that you moved recently didn't you? Maybe he is a little down, sometimes that happens when they move to a new home. He probably just needs a little extra TLC to help him make the adjustment.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS ...
At least you found out that nothing is horribly wrong with her (thank goodness!). See, it wouldn't matter if we spent a good amount of money on our precious pets. I would do the same thing and go to certain extent just to make sure my 'mongrel' is out of danger.
A similar thing happened to my dog (she was 3 years old then, and is now nearing 7 years of age). I used to take her to a friend's friend who's got a little bit older male dog (like my dog, he was just by himself, and was also a bit lonely). That was one reason why she wanted to look after another dog. She's got a very large fenced property (2.5 hectares roughly - with a lot of shady trees surrounding the area. My dog and hers spent quite a bit of time together almost everyday (except weekends). They did really like each other; they even have their favourite shaded spot where they just sit quietly after a good round. Each time I take her to the place, she's so very excited. Even just a mere mention of the boy dog's name made her jump with joy. But of course, things have got to end. For a lot of reasons (one, the lady owner found a permanent job), I was not able to take my dog to that place any longer. For around 3-4 weeks, my dog had been lethargic (she looked awfully sick), would barely eat (not even her favourite bones!) and wouldn't even play (tennis ball, kong, anything). I had an idea, more or less - she was terribly missing her "boyfriend". Nevertheless, I took her to the vet. Few tests were done, too. Making sure that there were no major issues involved inside her body. (There was none, of course). Finally, the vet gave her some medications to boost her appetite. My dog was definitely stressed. (There's an old saying that loneliness causes cancer ... and having to bring her to the vet was my only resort). I got a "handsome" bill after. But summing up, I didn't regret having spent that amount on her. I had peace of mind after. Just like you, I was "mental" and wouldn't know what to do, too. Well, let's put it this way. They do give us that unconditional love ... and we do our most part. Not just in return nor as a gesture ... it's because our love for them is just the same. I'd say, the purest of all the pure love between us and our pets.
I'm so, very happy about the outcome of your little darling. Oh, my "mongrel"? She could eat as much (as if there's no tomorrow!). She's branded as the "barrel on 4 legs".
Thanks for that share (what a relief!). You can now peacefully go on with your regular schedule.
Clap, splash, brush, smile. Have a great day, UWC!
Cheers,
Autumn Mist
P.S. I was so happy with your dog's clean bill of health ... and I'm hyped at the same time. Enclosing below a pic of my "mongrel".
