Lifestyle

Oncemore I lay in bed, hidden under my duvet on a beautiful sunny saturday morning. My to do list is as long as my arm, I do have too many projects on my plate but one key element I keep failing at is Eating healthy and working out.

We all know what we need to do. Cook from scratch, avoid sugar and refined flour, do 30 minutes or cardio a day. In my case, being a pear shape I should do 60 minutes at least. Some weights 3 times a week and drink loads of water.

I fail at all of them. Commitment is a 2 way street, you start and commit and in return you get the endorphine and power to keep going.

Here are a few key points that could help in making these changes and I have used them in the past, yet struggle with them now.

  • Having a support network and sport buddy, someone that is going through the same and who pushes on the days we don't feel like it.
  • Preparing part of meals in advance. Oneday cooking, then freezing ingredients and using them as we cook along throughout the week. I hate preplanning all my meals in advance as having freedom in choosing what we feel like eating on certain days matters to me.
  • Using a calendar and notebook to track what you eat and how you feel and...how much you have exercised.
  • Exercise as soon as I wake up or as soon as I come back from work.

All are of these steps are simple, yet complex in that you must be dedicated to keep going. Regularity is not my thing...spontaneity is.

How can you still feel spontaneous when you do tools, following the list and changing so many aspects of your life?
