New Year

Well it is a new year!!  But I want to focus on a new day.  No new year resolution. A new day resolution.  Today is a new day, a day that is not yesterday (Regardless of what I did) and an opportunity to start something that I did not start yesterday.  If anyone reading this knows me you all know I drink too much (and if you don't know, I mean TOO much, I am an alcoholic) and have not done enough to change it.  I have talked about it just like I am now... but Today is an opportunity to start to change that not just talk about it.  I just finished Day 7 and realize that I drink because I am trying to escape the day to day and by doing it I am not taking care of myself.  I do like myself.  I think.  I want to like myself.  So I am going to start taking care of myself so I CAN like myself.

So today instead of talking about it I am going to do something about it.  I am going to take today and not treat it like yesterday.  If you read this, I was gonna make it private so I didn't waste your time just talking about myself, but then i thought about it again and thought maybe I could finish by saying, no matter what it is we want to change if we didn't start yesterday we CAN start today whether it is a new year or a new day.  My best to everyone.

Opportunities

Good for you! Opportunities exist everyday. I am glad you realize today is an opportunity to change. Happy  2009!

Great to hear from you

So glad that you have made a decision to do something about your drinking.

There are so many reasons not to drink but if you have never known these reasons it is the highlight of discovering them yourself.

I am always here to support you on your journey.  Have a great alcohol free day! Angie

You go wavehunter!!!!

A good friend of mine, John is a recovered alcoholic.  A real cool guy, He has been sober for over 25 years now.  I love his encouragement in regards to many things! One of his sayings that I keep a pretty tight grip on is below.  I hope that it will give you as much strength to acheive your goal as it has me!

"You can start today over again, anytime you need to"  ~my friend, John.
